  1. Not sure what’s wrong, but the first unit lost volume, and so did the second one.

  2. I bought this radio for my daughter for Christmas. 90 days later it has stopped playing songs from the ipod. We have tried 3 different ipods and it will not play any of them. One of them was the newer I-touch. The am/fm radio still works but I didnt buy it to play the radio I bought it for the ipod player. Now that it has been over 90 days the store wont take it back, and I have to pay $20 to send it back to sony for a “refurbished” unit, they wont even give me a new one, what a rip off. I wouldnt buy this unit if I were you. The sound wasnt that great anyway. Buyer beware.

Purchase based on reviews and Sony’s reputation. It’s everything my wife needs for her sewing room. Sound is great, easy to operate. Easy to start up without reading any instructions. Will likely buy another for the bedroom.

I was expecting rich sound from it. But it is ok in sound, all other feature are good. I bought this one because of SONY brand but it is not good as T612 from Altec.

I purchased this for use with my iPhone 3GS in my basement home gym and therefore chose it for three key reasons. The first was volume. This unit was able to go much louder than other similarly-priced docking stations, particularly when MegaBass and MegaExpand are turned on. I am easily able to hear the music over the drone of my treadmill, fan, oil furnace, etc.. A second feature that was important to me was the remote control (lacking on many alarm clock style docks). It allows me to change, among other things, the volume and track played from my perch on the gym equipment. One previous reviewer implied the remote cannot advance songs for the iPhone, but it can (as long as you’ve got the phone already on iPod mode on the dock) – you can also use the remote to switch back and forth between radio and iPod modes. Finally, I chose this rather than using aux-in from my phone to a basic shelf system because of its compact, portable size. The only reason I’ve deducted a star here is that the sound quality isn’t great, but that wasn’t super important to me given its purpose in my home.
