I used this once. Nice to have a long cord, and it worked just fine, until I tried to remove it from my iPhone. The connector (at the phone end) has two buttons on the side to release the locking mechanism of the connector. Only one of the two buttons worked, the other froze up, so the cable could not be disconnected. It was only with extraordinary effort, jewelers tools, and a little luck that I was able to get it out, but at the cost of potential damage to the iPhone jack. (The release button remained frozen even after it was removed.) Maybe others have had better luck with theirs, but the poor quality control suggests to me that it’s definitely not worth the risk to save a few dollars, even with the relatively effective Amazon return procedure.

We love this cord, because my son can play his apps in the back seat of the car while being connected to the “juice”. Unfortunately, after a few weeks of use, the plastic covering the area connecting the wires to the plug/connector started to fall apart (possibly because of exposure to sun?) and the cord stopped working. We’re giving it only two stars because of the short life-span of the product; however, the length is super-convenient for our application, so we are going to buy a new one and hopefully it will last longer.

This cable is great. I use it for my iPad. I think the original cable is much too short and this should be standard. Now I can charge my iPad and can have it sit on a table or desk and show a slide show.

Great idea. I REALLY need a longer cord for my iPhone especially for charging at night while traveling.
Cord arrived quickly but unfortunately will not function in my iPhone 3GS. It either does nothing or I will briefly get an error mesage stating “this device not supported for charging” (or words to that effect) and then nothing.
I have no way of telling if the cord is defective or if it just won’t work with the iPhone 3GS. So now I have returned it…(exchanging it was not an option allowed by Amazon).
Since there are two other reviews on here that say similar things either it doesn’t work with the iPhone 3GS or they have serious quality control issues in the manufacture of this cord. I have no way of knowing which it is.
Sure wish I could find one from another manufacturer…

The long cord would be nice, but the connector doesn’t work at all with my iPhone 3GS, which make this cord worthless to me. That problem is not limited to this product. I’ve found few connectors besides the cords directly from Apple that actually work.
